"I… have had enough of this place. I want to go outside. And I want to understand what is happening in this world, and why I was born.

When I speak with you, I keep hearing about things I don’t know. I don’t know about this place called school. I don’t know about movie theaters. I don’t know about amusement parks. …And I think, from the bottom of my heart, that I want to know.

I don’t want to be Beatrice. I want to start out as a new human, and I want to know who I am.

I don’t need tea anymore.

I don’t need this dress.

I won’t meet with Kinzo again.

So please, take me away from here. Rosa.”

You’re my paper heart.

My friend got this picture at NYCC today.

I legit teared up at this. It makes me so happy to see little girls openly loving superheroes because from the moment that we’re born society expects us to automatically like stereotypically feminine things like dolls and tea sets and everything drenched in pink, and while there’s absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying any of those things it does become a problem when they are a girl’s only option and there is no opportunity for her to explore other interests. So for this kid to stand up against those ingrained expectations and proudly sport a Batman cape is just so amazing to me and a testament to the powerful impact Batman’s legacy has made on his fans.

You go, little girl. <3
